What are the possible side effects of Calcium Carbonate (Calcium-D3-MIK)?
Stop taking Calcium Carbonate (Calcium-D3-MIK) and seek emergency medical attention if you experience a rare allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives).
Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take Calcium Carbonate (Calcium-D3-MIK) and notify your doctor if you experience
- nausea or vomiting;
- decreased appetite;
- constipation;
- dry mouth or increased thirst; or
- increased urination.
Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.

Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome:
Constipation.
Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur while taking Calcium Carbonate (Calcium-D3-MIK) (the active ingredient contained in Calcium Carbonate (Calcium-D3-MIK))
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); confusion; increased urination; loss of appetite; mental or mood changes; nausea; severe or persistent constipation or stomach pain; weakness; vomiting.
What is the most important information I should know about Calcium Carbonate (Calcium-D3-MIK)?
- Do not take large doses of vitamins while you use Calcium Carbonate (Calcium-D3-MIK) unless your doctor tells you to.
- Some of these products may contain soy. If you are allergic to soy, ask your pharmacist if your product has soy in it.
- Tell your doctor or dentist that you take Calcium Carbonate (Calcium-D3-MIK) before you receive any medical or dental care, emergency care, or surgery.
- Lab tests, including serum calcium levels, may be performed while you use Calcium Carbonate (Calcium-D3-MIK). These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
- Calcium Carbonate (Calcium-D3-MIK) should be used with extreme caution in CHILDREN; safety and effectiveness in children have not been confirmed.
- PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Calcium Carbonate (Calcium-D3-MIK) while you are pregnant. It is not known if Calcium Carbonate (Calcium-D3-MIK) is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you use Calcium Carbonate (Calcium-D3-MIK), check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.

Known hypersensitivity reaction to any of the ingredients of Calcium Carbonate (Calcium-D3-MIK).
What are the possible side effects of Vitamin D3 (Calcium-D3-MIK)?
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop taking cholecalciferol and call your doctor at once if you have:

thinking problems, changes in behavior, feeling irritable;
-
urinating more than usual;
-
chest pain, feeling short of breath; or
-
early signs of vitamin D overdose (weakness, metallic taste in your mouth, weight loss, muscle or bone pain, constipation, nausea, and vomiting).

As well as its needed effects, cholecalciferol (the active ingredient contained in Vitamin D3 (Calcium-D3-MIK)) may cause unwanted side effects that require medical attention.
Major Side Effects
If any of the following side effects occur while taking cholecalciferol, check with your doctor immediately:
Incidence not known:
- Cough
- difficulty swallowing
- dizziness
- fast heartbeat
- hives or itching
- puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
- skin rash
- tightness in the chest
- unusual tiredness or weakness
What is the most important information I should know about Vitamin D3 (Calcium-D3-MIK)?
You should not use cholecalciferol if you have high levels of calcium or vitamin D in your blood, or if you have any condition that makes it hard for your body to absorb nutrients from food (malabsorption).
Vitamin D3 (Calcium-D3-MIK) contraindications
Contraindications for vitamin D analogues (Vitamin D2, Vitamin D3 (Calcium-D3-MIK), Calcitriol, and Calcidiol)
Vitamin D should not be given to patients with hypercalcemia or evidence of vitamin D toxicity. Use of vitamin D in patients with known hypersensitivity to vitamin D (or drugs of the same class) or any of the inactive ingredients is contraindicated.
